Number of New or Dual Members Still Needed for District 33 to be Distinguished:73

Congratulations District 33 – Distinguished 2 years in a row.  Let us continue that momentum for 2010-2011 by earning the “Excellence in Leadership” Award for achieving Distinguished District three years in a row.  Each member shares in the honor of this award for it is only with the efforts and commitment of the members that the District can achieve Distinguished. Click here to sign up to volunteer for the 2011 International Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 17-20.

The goal for 2010-2011: Distinguished across the board.
Members reaching their goals make every club Distinguished which leads to Distinguished Areas, Distinguished Divisions and Distinguished District. Being a Distinguished Club means your club is delivering the Toastmaster program. Members achieving speaking goals, leadership goals, getting new members, and maintaining their responsibilities are critical to a club’s success.  All ten Distinguished Club Program goals are a measure of a club’s commitment to the Toastmasters educational and leadership program. I have read that 4 dedicated club officers can make a distinguished club, but it is a benefit to all members to participate with a group effort. Not to mention, it is easier and more fun!  Your club has the mission to reach Distinguished Club status. When your club is distinguished – celebrate, have a party.  Every member deserves to be a member of a distinguished club!

I joined Toastmasters to be able to communicate in a group of three or more.  Now, I am the District 33 Governor.  In Toastmasters, everything is possible.  Over my thirteen years as a Toastmaster, I have had many triumphs, but this will be my best Toastmaster year ever.  Please join me and make this your best Toastmaster year.  “Inspire and Empower” others to reach their full potential as you. “Inspire and Empower” yourself to success. It’s what we do in Toastmasters – “Inspire and Empower”.

Greetings Happy People of District 33

I need your help in making District 33 a BEYOND DISTINGUISHED DISTRICT for the 2010-2011 year.

Beneath the eight Divisions that make up this District, we stand together as one powerful community!! Whether it is by achieving educational goals, creating new clubs, mentoring new members, or just walking in front of a lectern for the first time, We ALL have a stake in the success of this District!!

As your Lt. Governor of Marketing, I will inspire and empower all of you to go further than you expect!! Participate at any opportunity you have!! Create, strengthen, and establish your communities!! Be open to fresh, innovative ideas that will create nothing but growth!! Be honest and respectful to other Toastmasters, and step outside that comfort zone!!

For this upcoming year, there will be no limits as we make room for growth. This can especially be done through effective communication on ALL levels. By stepping outside of our boxes and blazing our own trails, we will land in that WIN-WIN situation!! As long as we have our visions, intentions, and goals are set – ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!

To ensure dynamic growth in District 33, we will start our membership campaign off with a BLAST with an ALL YEAR OPEN HOUSE CAMPAIGN!! THAT’S RIGHT!! If you talk to and invite 15 people to your Toastmasters Club, you will get an Inspire and Empower Pin!! This will run throughout the whole year!! All you have to do is write down a list of the 15 people you talked to, have your VP Membership sign off on it, and send it to yours truly!!

But wait, there’s more!! Throughout the Toastmaster year, we will have MORE exciting membership building campaigns!! That’s right!! We will have membership campaigns such as Be Our Guest, the Early Bird Award, and the Brand New “Bring a Friend” membership drive!!

To further sweeten the pot, any District 33 Toastmaster club that helps sponsor a brand new club for the 2010-2011 year will receive an “Inspire and Empower” ribbon for their banner!! Just imagine!! Your club can have this beautiful ribbon placed on your banner by creating a new club!! Talk about a WIN-WIN deal!!

There is no doubt that we will become a PRESIDENT’S DISTINGUISHED DISTRICT by June 30, 2011. All we have to do is just make it happen and go further than we expect!! And as we walk across the stage at the 2011 International Conference in Las Vegas, the whole world will know that District 33 can “Inspire and Empower!!”

Prepare to fasten your seat belts. This is going to be one awesome ride!!

Sincerely,

Jesse Oakley III, DTM
